- Personality : Shy, jumpy, excited, adventurous, and sometimes a rebel.

- (Scarf) He was one day walking at night around on the shore, when he saw a little boy crying on a rock, he slowly walked over to see what was wrong, and saw that the boy was lost, and had a cut knee. He went over to comfort the boy, and help him. The boy was greatful for his help, so gave him his old, faded, and torn scarf to Gnarly, as a sign of thanks. Gnarly kept it ove the years to remember this soft, caring, and defensless boy.
- (Braclet) His ankle braclet is fishing net he took out of the ocean and tied / braided it together. He doesn't like fisherman, so when he sees fishing nets, he likes to get rid of them. So, he either throws them away, or adds to his little braclet.
- Sometimes likes to wear assorted clothing peices he finds on the beach after people have left them there, but doesn't usually keep them for long. Unlike his scarf and braclet.
- B A C K G R O U N D
- When he was born he was very weak and defenseless, he was born into an abusive family, and the man would beat his mother to death.
When the owner realized how sick the mother's only puppy was, he threw him in a box, and left him at the shore. Soon the tide picked up, and carried him out to see, where he ended up drowning, and died. His body then floated to the surface when it wased to shore, and a young scientist found him. He took him back to his lab, and did surgery on him, mixing his DNA with that of a fish, makeing him come back to life. However, as soon as Gnarly opened up his eyes again, he raced out of the little shack and back to the sea, where he swam away. A year later, he was swimming by Hawaii's coast line when a surfers ran into him. He saw Gnarley had a dog body, but a tail like a mermaid. He was astonished by this mixture, and yelled out to his friends in his surfer slang, "GNARLY DUDE!"
The dog quickly swam away, but the name stuck forever. Gnarly now likes to hang around docks and piers, and only likes to go on land at sunset or night, or if no one is around. Plus he only enjoys younger children, because of their softer nature. He usually get sad and lonely, but doesn't mind alot.
